Meet The Team

Having worked in the East Midlands area for nearly 30 years, Gary has a wealth of experience in all aspects of business, finance and management.

As a graduate of The University of Birmingham where he read Mathematics, Gary went on to qualify as a chartered accountant in 1995, and now advises on all aspects of taxation, accountancy and audit.

As described in our portfolio section, Gary specialises in bespoke tax structures, succession planning and advising those in the legal sector.

Outside of the office, Gary is married with 2 sons who accompany him to St James’ Park where he is a season ticket holder at Newcastle United. Other interests include golf and gardening. His quest for the perfect lawn continues, however.

Originally from Leicestershire, Richard read Economics with Accounting at Loughborough University before training as a chartered accountant.

Richard has a broad range of experience dealing with all accounting, auditing and taxation matters for individuals and owner-managed businesses. Richard joined the firm in 2006 and was appointed a director in 2012.

Richard’s spare time is spent mainly with his family and he enjoys regular visits to Liverpool where he also holds a football season ticket.

Kelly was born and raised in Nottinghamshire and qualified as an accountant in 2006. From working in practice since leaving 6th form, Kelly has much experience within all areas of accountancy, including accounts preparation, tax and other compliance work. She takes pride in and enjoys establishing strong, professional relationships with her clients to enable her to provide the best possible service.

Kelly’s spare time is spent mostly with her family and enjoying travel whenever possible. She loves being adventurous, usually by throwing herself down zip lines, exploring unusual places and battling to beat escape rooms! She also is a keen supporter of Nottingham Forest, enjoying home matches and travelling to away matches whenever she can.

Having been good with numbers from a young age, you could say Michael was destined to become an accountant!

Michael lives in Nottingham and graduated with a degree in Accounting & Finance from Nottingham Trent University in 2000. He continued his accountancy training by studying ACCA with a national firm of accountants in Nottingham City Centre and became fully qualified in 2003. 

With over 20 years’ experience, he has developed a wide range of skills in accounting, and in both personal and corporate taxation. He enjoys getting to know businesses and looking after all of their needs. For the last few years he has specialised in helping traditional solicitors firms restructure to Alternative Business Structures and complying with the licensing requirement of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Away from the office, Michael enjoys watching the Nottingham Panthers, live comedy shows and dabbling with rock climbing, whilst also enjoying walking and a good drama series on Netflix.

Holly began working in accounting straight from completion of her A Levels at Derby College and has since gained her accounting qualification as a member of the ACCA. She now has over 5 years of experience working in all aspects of accounts, tax and audit. She particularly enjoys taxation work including helping clients to complete their tax returns.

Outside of the office, Holly loves travelling abroad to new places and often enjoys attending music festivals. When she’s not listening to her favourite DJs, Holly spends a great amount of time shopping online and could quite possibly be considered as the top customer of ASOS.

Laura joined as a trainee accountant after graduating with a degree in International Business with Chinese and has since gained her ACA qualification. She enjoys learning about all aspects of accounting, especially tax. Since joining the firm, Laura has gained experience in various areas of accounting, including the preparation of accounts, tax returns and VAT returns. She particularly enjoys the variety of work we undertake as a firm.

In her spare time, Laura is an avid board game player and she also enjoys travelling and baking (mostly successfully!).

Jo brings vast experience and knowledge to running our payroll department and holds the Chartered Institute of Payroll professional level 4 Advanced Payroll Technician Certificate and a level 3 Certificate in Pension Administration.

In Jo’s spare time she runs and coaches a netball team (and still competes at regional level!). She loves spending time with her family and friends and tries to successfully grow produce, and not weeds, in her allotment.

Katherine has lived in Derby all her working life. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant she has spent her career to date in a variety of treasury and accounting roles with a number of companies throughout the East Midlands. As Practice Manager, Katherine has responsibilities for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.

In her spare time, Katherine enjoys yoga and pottering around in the garden.

Daniel graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in accounting and finance and has worked at the firm since, he is currently working towards his ACA qualification. Since joining the firm, Daniel has worked in all aspects of accounts, tax and audit. He is especially interested in the preparation of accounts.

When he’s not at work, Daniel enjoys watching Liverpool FC and going on walks.

Eireann joined the firm after completion of her A Levels and is currently working towards her ACCA qualification. She has experience of accounts and tax, and is enjoying developing her skillset and knowledge in all areas.

When out of the office, Eireann enjoys travelling and making new memories. She also loves being creative, baking for family and friends and going on adventures with her loveable dog.

Your first point of contact with our firm will very often be with our friendly and efficient receptionist Yvonne. As well as her reception duties, Yvonne is also our facilities manager, and helps to ensure the smooth running of the office. Yvonne is married with two grown-up boys.

When she is not at work, Yvonne enjoys walking, shopping and socialising with family and friends.
